There were promotions going on where I live (Southern California) where, to get people into homes they were offering 'buy one, get one free deals'! People who bought million + dollar homes were also getting rowhomes and run down/foreclosed upon shacks in another part of town as part of the deal. From what I heard no one was really taking them up on the offer, but it was an interesting proposition nonetheless
