Al Gharbia - huge investment
The government of Abu Dhabi have made a huge financial commitment to Al Gharbia.
Interesting this whole area amounts to just over 70% of the UAE.
The Western Region will now be known as Al Gharbia in both English and Arabic. It comprises 7 main cities, namely, Madinat Zayed, Mirfa, Liwa, Ghayathi, Sila, Ruwais and Dalma Island and is close to the borders of Saudi Arabia and Qatar.
This will provide an interesting alternative to its close neighbour Dubai.
