Default Buying in France

I am thinking of buying a new build near Geneva in France. Any pitfalls or advice on the french system would be gratefully received - I've heard that there can be quite a few legal hurdles

Smile Buying a home in France

Hi Dave,

I've just seen your question. Sorry for the delay in reacting to it, but better late than never. There are a few sites out there that will help get you clued up. This is a link to one of them: http://www.buyassociation.co.uk/property/text/france/buyassociation/buying-a-home-in-france.html.

You've probably moved in by now.

Cheers,

Stu

Definately look into getting a french real estate lawyer on your side. If you want to look somewhere other then new builds in france, maybe a nice vineyard..

Get a local to help you. I guess it depends whether you're an EU citizen or not, but who knows.
