Buy Early
One of my best successes as a property investor was when I bought 4 properties off plan in a development called 'West One' in Sheffield. I had been given a tip about this development by my mortgage broker who was the IFA to the developer. I sold 3 of the apartments before they completed making between 15 and 25K on each.
My advice: Make friends with you mortgage broker. If they are any good - they will give you the heads up on new developments and deals. The success of this investment was being in early. I didn't twist the developers arm to get the deal. The deal worked because I was in the know, and I was in the know because my mortgage broker gave me the nod.
