Default Petrol saving hints

People are already driving slower to save petrol. Another tip I heard today was to park your car in such a way that you are able to drive straight out when you use your car next. Apparently its all to do with moving a car around when the engines cold uses a lot more petrol than if you do it when the engine is warm. The other tip is to take off the top box when you are not using it, that can add up to 20% more fuel consumption

Another great way to save gas is to avoid using your air conditioner when driving, especially if you find yourself in stop and go traffic. This can be uncomfortable during the summer months, but the savings at the end of the season will be nothing to laugh at.

Make sure to keep your tires properly inflated, your oil changed, and keep your car tuned up. If you don't do these things they can have a huge impact on your gas usage.

Keep your car clean! Put away all the junk you have in your car to lower your car's total weight. Plus use cruise control to keep at a steady speed. And keep your tires inflated! Everything counts to save some money!

What is a top box? Never heard of this type of part on a vehicle.

Ei, the top box confuses me too just what it is really?
For me, to save on petrol, avoid those unnecessary trips therefore less car use. And if its only short distance, rather use your bike. Its good exercise too.

Also, fill up your gas tank in the morning. I can't remember the exact explanation, but it has to do with the vapors. You lose more as the day heats up or something, so you get more in the morning than later in the day. Someone also said that, similar to the vapors, it's best to keep a full tank as much as possible.

Or you can switch to a hybrid. Or a motorcycle. Or a bike. Unless you're dependant of that car.
