As far as I'm aware it doesn't. I could be wrong though.I know someone who went through that he also owed us money for a car he was buying from us.Somehow a list gets compiled and if it's not on the list then the person owed may or may not get paid.We basically didn't get any payment. We werent even able to track him down. His house was foreclosed on or he had to sell it to cover it.We aren't sure exactly which one happened.I'd call and see if you can get in touch with a bankrupcty attorney to find out.We ended up on the list but never got a dime from the loser, and apparently he totalled the car either. So, my savings account was depleted by my parents and when selling the car we got screwed since I allowed my hubby to handle it.He was only suppose to get it inspected and somehow it's now totaled and the cops wont help.

I don't think it saves your home, it would stop the bank from requesting any more $$ from you for payments, and I know you cannot buy anything using any type of credit/payment plan for about 5 years after you declare bankruptcy
If you file bankruptcy while going through foreclosure proceedings it will allow you to stay in the house longer, but you will ultimately lose the house.
