Default Are there any alternatives to bankruptcy?

Like are there really companies that can take all of your debt and reduce it into smaller, easier payments per month?

Be very very careful with companies that promise to consolidate all your loans and debts, they often charge their costs up front so adding too your debt

If you have debt and are working to consolidate, I strongly suggest doing it on your own. Your creditors will be willing to settle with you for much less than the original amount, and you do not need to pay an outside company to negotiate these terms for you. The debt collection companies get rich from people's unwillingness to deal with their debt issues, and are ultimately taking more of your hard earned money from you. Contact your lenders on your own and negotiate terms, you will be happy you did.

Be careful of people that say they can help save your home. In honesty the only people who can really help you is the loan company or the court systems not some company wanting to make money off you.

Anything one of these companies can do, you can do for yourself, in most cases.

If you live in a state where credit agencies are required to provide you with a free credit report each year, be sure to request online access to your file. Look at that file once every few weeks and request investigations of items that may not belong to you.

It is worth the time and not nearly the hassle that many make it out to be.

There are actually companies that will work with you for free to buy your
mortgage away from your mortgage company and avoid your foreclosure.
I would advise looking into this first. Try GoRingtoneGo - Get your complimentary ringtone (or realtones, mono ringtones, poly ringtones, wallpapers, JAVA games, screensavers) with paid subscription from 4.00.
Good luck!
