How long does it typically take for a foreclosed home to be turned around and ready to be sold on the public market?

It depends on a lot of factors and how the bank or finance company does it I guess. Sometimes it can be quick sometimes it will not.

My co-workers house was foreclosed on and it sat vacant for well over 8 month before even any signs of an attempt to sell were seen. So I have to agree with ken7700 it depends a lot on the bank and how fast they get the process rolling.

Wow - 8 months?! That is just insane! How long did they stay in the house up to that point?
