Glasgow Airport development on track
The structure at Glasgow airport has been completed. Thirty million pounds will be spent on the development project at the airport.
Dubbed skyhub, the 4,000 sq metre extension aims to transform passengers' experience at the Scottish airport when it opens to the public on October 21.
The expansion project is the biggest seen by the airport in a generation, introducing a new state-of-the-art security search area in addition to a range of bars, shops, restaurants and lounges.
Last October, airport regulator BAA outlined a £290 million 25-year plan to transform the airport, with skyhub constituting the largest investment for any single project.
The facility takes its name from the Nasa-approved translucent fibreglass system which developers Balfour Beatty are planning to use in its windows.
