Default What To Look For In A Home

When you are doing a walkthrough of a home you are interested in, look for the following:

Are the rooms big enough for all your furniture?
Do all the applicances work?
Is the electrical system in working order?
How is the furnace?
Do any repairs need to be done?
Is the yard large enough?
Do you like the layout of the house?

Great advice there one thing I would be wary of though is the furniture one make sure that the house is big enough for your furniture well may be you could consider changing some of your furniture downsize new look I have heard of a couple not buying a house because their dinning table was too big to fit in the new house, this was a dinning table that they never used.

Yes I agree with Mindy I wouldnt want a viewer to take lots of pictures of my home I guess that you have to make sure that the photos used for the sale are representative, I went to view a property recently that looked like it had sweeping lawns to the front however it was take with a wide angled lens and the lawn instead of being square was a strange cut of triangle shape. I think that you have to be honest and not try to fool people.

I think its a good idea to check that the furnace/central heating is working a friend of mine bought a house last June and it wasnt until September that she found out that the central heating wasnt working and she was faced with a huge bill.

Do not forget about to check the water and gas installations. Are they old, do they need replacing? Also, don't forget the roof, it's important.

Good point, in the UK property buyers usually have a structural survey which would include the roof.
