Touring Houses

One way to ensure you have picked a good contractor to build your new home is to tour other properties they have already built. Any reputable builder would be more than happy to show off his work.

Would you ask to do this before meeting with the contractor or after you have already met with him/her to discuss the details of the project?

Either way would work. The contractor who built our house was more than willing to take us on a tour of some of the homes he already built. It actually helped us when deciding what features we wanted in our house.

I also consider touring to look for nice houses and designs. The location and neighborhood also matters a lot to me.
