Default Meeting Neighbors

Is it a good idea to go around and introduce yourself in the community if you are seriously considering buying a home? Do you think people are in general ok with this, or do you think it may put them off?

I think its a great idea, however I would ask the person I was buying from to introduce me to the neighbours, I would also ask if they keep an idea on any of the elderly neighbours etc so that you can possibly do the same. I would probably wait until the buying process was well underway before I did this.

I think it is important you get a feel for some of the people you potentially might be living near to or next to. I would wait until your fairly serious about buying the property before you actually begin to approach people.

I dont think I would approach the neighbours until I was 100 percent sure I was going to buy the house first.

Sounds like a good rule of thumb - no need to bug people if you are not totally sure I suppose!

I stay away from neighbors unless there is a specific reason to get to know them, meaning it is purpose driven and not just because they are my neighbors. I really don't want that many possible interruptions, or disapproving gossip, in my life

hi there. i think it is a good idea. you should know more about the community before considering to buy a house in that area. you should ask the people there about anything of your concerns.
