Default Property mgmt fees?

For those with property managers, how much are you paying in monthly fees, what percentage? Does your fee amount go down if you have more than one property?

I am in the process of renting, the property management that is handling my home will be charging 10% once it gets rented. Not sure about any discounts if renting more, but I would guess they would give a discount.

It all depends upon the deal you negotiate with the management company. Call a few and ask what they charge so you know what the market will bear. Then have a fair figure in mind, be honest about your situation (how many properties you have to manage right now; how many you will definitely have at which point in the future) and see if you can't strike a bargain.

These fees differ from place to place so be sure this is something you negotiate before signing any contracts for the place.

I've seen an initial fee of 20% for the first month and 10% thereafter.
