Default Vacant Property

I am in a situation where the house next to the one I am renting has been empty for years - the landlord is aware of this situation but since he continues to get paid, he does not do anything about it. Is there any way I could contact the landlord? Should I do this?

Is the property becomming a nuicense? Are people breaking into the unit? Are weeds overgrowing the lot? If this is the case, contact the city about it, otherwise I wouldn't worry about it.
