Default Does anyone have any experience Buying in County Cork, Ireland?

Hi, Everyone!

I'm in the USA, but I have been seriously considering purchasing in Ireland; specifically in County Cork. I'm adopted, but my biological mother (whom I've never met) was from (and apparently is still in) County Cork somewhere, and I would like to have that connection purely for sentimental reasons.

Has anyone have experience with a non-resident mortgage in Ireland?

Thanks in advance,
Lisa

I haven't, but I can bet it's pretty complicated. Usually, buying in a different country than yours can be a hassle.

Hi,

Buying property abroad can seem a bit daunting but very rewarding, but saying that buying your first property can be daunting but provided that you do your research and know what you are buying it can be a hugely profitable and enjoyable experiance.

But where can you do some good research? Who can you trust? The information is scarce and unreliable if you go about doing it all by yourself. It's probably best to use specialized help, as in local realtors and such, but then again, you might become a scam victim.
