Default Would you rather live on the lake...

Or own a large strip of property where you could add an inground pool? I'd choose the pool! I already live on the lake, I find it a bit boring

I'd love to live on lake front property. Nothing like sitting out on your deck and throwing the pole in the water and catching your dinner

ha ha...nope, no alligators in our lake. Just fish, snapping turtles, ducks, and swans

I have a pool as well, and I love it, but I also think living on a lake would be cool. There are pros and cons to both. Maybe a few months by the lake and the rest with the pool. Nice compromise! ;}

I'm not a fisherperson, but I just love the call of the water trickling on my. I have to chuckle, though, because your post reminded me of a character on a TV show (Stargate SG-1 -- Jack, played by Richard Dean Anderson) was always wanting to go fish in his lake!

I love the sound of that, I must admit. Very peaceful, in fact! It's not a lake, of course, but one of my favorite memories is sitting late at night on the beach on Maui, just feeling the breeze and listening to the music in the distance. I can't describe the tranquility and serenity I felt in that moment. I think it would be the same by the lake!

That sounds beautiful. I've lived on the lake for 7 years now, I guess you could say I enjoyed it for about 2 years, then it started getting old. But I think that happens with everything, even swimming pools...we all want what we can't have or what we used to have

That's very true. Maybe the folks who do the six-month split have the best of it, switching up their locale twice a year!

I would go for the lake, just seeing the wildlife alone is sufficient for me. You can perhaps fish and use a boat too plus enjoy the view. A pool needs cloro tablets, a cover if it rains and general maintenance. The only drawback is that I don't think I would feel comfortable swimming in a lake as swimming in a pool.
