Default Proximity to Airports

How important is it for you to live near an airport? I know when I fly back to see my parents it is a major hassle to drive an hour to the closest airport, but I am not sure that something like that is enough to get them to reconsider their location.

For me it's a major attraction, but this is just me. I love airplanes. My uncle used to live near JFK and every Sunday I visited him I would literally stay hours watching all the planes pass over the roof of his home. It was great because they were so close I could see the airline logo. So we knew that at 10 British Airways would pass and then at 10:15 U.S Airways. We knew when an airlaine was late or flying too low. It was amazing. And the noise never bothered me when I slept over as a child.
I travel a lot so a home near an airport is a plus for me. The noise has never bothered me but actually relaxes me in some way...Never really had the luck to find a home close to an airport as my uncle's home, maybe one day I will... but again this is just me..

I travel to Europe once in a while, so leaving within a reasonable distance from an airport is important. Trips across the ocean are long enough, no need to make them even longer by traveling to the airport.

No way. I am a writer and I want peace and quiet. I've never seen the attraction of living near a place that has a high concentration of toxic fumes and noise.

As someone who travels a lot too, I think this really is a definite plus for frequent travel. How are home prices affected by proximity to the airport? Does it raise or lower home values?

This is actually very important to me. I have a choice of either a local commuter hub to LAX (los Angeles) via Palomar Airport or I can drive to San diegop Lindberg field, or to John Wayne in Orange County or i can just drive to LAX. I shop for the best fares and go from there.

Default Airports

I used to live 5 mins from a regional airport and it was very convenient as I had to fly several times a year. This could be a huge selling point for anyone who frequently has to fly, just like a train or subway station would be important for someone who has to commute into a city.

My current home is just a 25 minute drive to the airport. We do not have alot of air traffic as the airport is very small, but it is very convenient for when we have family visiting.

I don't like to live near airports. I hate the noises that planes create.
