Default Over development

Two years ago I moved to a small coastal town in a very rural area. One of my main reasons for moving was the pace of population growth in the area I was living in at the time. Traffic became an issue,as did crime. The area was being developed too fast with no real control. My concern was what will this area be like 5 to 10 years from now. While I fully understand development is needed for economic growth, my question is what kind of controls are in place to do this properly.

Unfortunately I do not think there are many controls in place at all regarding town growth and development. If a place somehow becomes more desirable to live in, the town government will most likely do everything it can to have the town grow as quickly as possible to get money into their local economy for growth.

The same thing has happened here. Every piece of land on the coast seems to have been built on. It is amazing how the place has changed in the 5 years that I have been here. Thankfully new schools and medical centres have been built too, but the traffic is just getting awful.

i think all areas do develop in the near future. areas with least population now may be a well developed one in the future.
