Default Now's the time to buy?

Afternoon all,

First time on this forum - so wanted to introduce myself and ask for some comments on the state of the UK housing market. Personally I think that around Autumn will be the time to buy - with the slowdown in effect and prices looking good. I'm going to sit on my hands for 3 months...

What's the general thoughts of the Offplan team?

Giles

Giles,

I think that any time next year will be a good time - I don't think we'll see the major slowdown until then (first time buyers have gone up month on month). If you can hold off until then I would suggest it - best of luck,

Mungo

I don't think this is good time for off plan investments also, specially London property market.

I think with any investment property purchase, location and knowing your target market for renting out/selling on is vital. There are some great deals to be had at the moment, especially in Manchester.

I think that there are bargains to be had at the moment but I think that you have to do your research, do visit the area, even if the property isnt built you can still get a feel for the place, look at existing shops , open areas roads etc is the area improving. Do your research and bargain hard and look for the medium to long term gain. If the property market does dip there will be a lot more people renting.

Thats all for now

Bob

Thanks for the feedback - it's all moved a lot quicker than I thought - there are definetly some great deals out there, so think anytime in the next 6 months would be good!
