A UK property builder has turned to hosting wine tasting events as it bids to attract the attention of property investors in a sliding market.

Barratt Homes will be offering a selection of “superb” wines at its Lockhouse development in Camden, London this Thursday August 7th.

Starting at 5.30pm the Oval Road event aims to act as a platform to showcase the studio, apartment and penthouse development, which also boasts a concierge service and fitness room.

All studios have been sold but one-bedroom apartments are still up for grabs from £330,000, two-bedroom apartments start at £499,000 and three-bedroom apartments £895,000.

Barratt said:

“The Lockhouse provides a new benchmark in metropolitan living with a sleek, elegant facade, large windows and exceptionally stylish, contemporary interiors.

“Solar roof panels, which move according to the sun’s position, supplement the development’s gas supply.”

Earlier this month the firm announced it was cutting 1,200 jobs but also said it had secured
new finance and had renegotiated with banks to put itself on a sure footing.

According to the Guardian Barratt’s visitor numbers are down 14.8 per cent from a year ago but up 15 per cent on the previous six months.
