Florida property glut prompts vast auction

A US state now has such an abundance of available real estate that one auctioneer is selling $30 million worth in one session.

United Country Real Estate will conduct the public sale on August 16, featuring more than 70 Florida properties with the huge estimated combined value.

Recreational land, large acreages, residential homes, building sites, condos, upscale homes and commercial parcels located across the state will be up for grabs to the highest bidder.

Auctioneer Scott Oglesby said:

“This is not a junk sale. We are auctioning quality properties for highly motivated sellers.

“The surplus of property already for sale in Florida prompted our sellers to liquidate their real estate holdings through auction, a method of real estate marketing that provides an efficient means to turn non-producing assets back into cash flow.”

He added the current “buyer’s market” in the US meant there were top opportunities for homebuyers looking for an upgrade and property investment professionals alike.

Among lots up for sale is a package of 300 acres of agricultural land in Punta Gorda and a three-storey home in the same area.

The auction will begin at 11am on August 16 at Fantasy of Flight in Lakeland, Florida. More information is available by calling 877-361-7770.
