UAE building projects managed by revolutionary software

September 5, 2008 by OPPE News

An Abu Dhabi-based investment company has launched a “revolutionary” computer system which will allow online payment for construction projects.

Aldar Properties says the Textura service will boost the management and efficiency of developments in the UAE and across the Middle East.

The company signed an agreement with Textura’s developers which will see the technology made available to Aldar projects and all other UAE building developments.

The system enables real-time invoicing, payment, cost tracking, and valuation for construction projects.

Chief executive of Textura, Patrick Allin, said:

“To our knowledge there is no similar system in use anywhere in the world. It will revolutionise the existing process, which is largely manual and inefficient.”

The service co-ordinates information through the construction supply chain, from builders to consultants.

Anyone signing on to the system can control construction invoices and payments in real-time using a database.

Aldar is involved in many of Abu Dhabi’s leading civic projects and aims to develop the city while adhering to its cultural and natural heritage.

Textura was founded in 2004 and specialises in construction-related internet technology. It says a third of all US commercial construction uses its technology.
