Cityscape Dubai 2008 expects 60,000 property investors

The UAE real estate sector is bucking international trends and continues to generate industry excitement, the organiser of a top property conference has said.

Shabnam Rawal, group director of Cityscape Conferences, was speaking ahead of Cityscape Dubai 2008, which is expected to attract 60,000 property investors and professionals.

Mr Rawal said:

“You only have to look out of any window [in the region] to see the astronomical property growth that is transforming cityscapes.

“While much of the west appears to be heading for a slump, the property business in the Arabian Gulf, along with China and India, continues to grow.”

Property prices in Dubai remain high and demand is still developing at a furious pace in other UAE areas such as Abu Dhabi.

Next month’s Cityscape conference, held from October 6 to 9 at the Dubai International Exhibition Centre, will involve real estate experts from more than 150 countries.

Mr Rawal added:

“With so many uncertainties in the world combined with a region that appears to be bucking the international trends, there is considerable excitement throughout the industry and all its sectors about this year’s programme.”

He also revealed former Mayor of London Ken Livingstone will chair the event, which attracted 51,855 people last year.
