Hillary Swank signs up to UAE investment project

Dubai real estate developers once again have stars in their eyes as they attempt to sell units in a private island development.

Select Property has signed up Hollywood star Hillary Swank as it bids to create a stir around Aquitainia, being built on The World project.

Comprising the islands of ‘France’ and ‘Spain’ on the man made world map replica, the development features plush properties plus restaurants, marinas, a spa and boutique hotel.

A double Oscar winning actress, Swank will appear at an October showcase event in Dubai, with music provided by fellow American and R and B star Kelly Rowland.

Rahail Aslam, chief executive of Select Group, said:

“Aquitainia is one of the most exclusive projects launched in Dubai to date, and the presence of an iconic personality like Hillary Swank accentuates the uniqueness of the project.”

Swank is the latest in a long line of high-profile US celebrities to be associated with UAE developments.

Actor Brad Pitt is helping to design an eco-friendly hotel for the region and Tiger Woods has backed a golfing resort project which bears his name.

Located four kilometres off the Dubai coastline, The World mirrors the geographical layout of planet earth and follows up on Palm Jumeirah, also based off the coast of Dubai and mimicking the shape of a palm tree.
