Emaar has revealed it is offering fully-furnished units in Makkah, also known as Mecca, as part of a multi-tower development.
The serviced residences are in Abraj Al Bait, a development being built by another firm and designed to accommodate visitors and Islamic pilgrims from around the world.
The properties are located in the upper floors of the tower, and are being offered on a timeshare lease programme.
Issam Galadari, Emaar International’s managing director, said:
“Emaar’s homes are ideal for pilgrims and families who desire to own a home in the holy city.“The apartments will be greatly sought after during the Hajj season and the holy month of Ramadan.”
The homes will feature a digital network for fast telecommunication facilities and will also have high-speed elevators to offer fast access to rooms, even during prayer time.
Abraj Al Bait is due to be fully complete in 2010 and is being built by the Saudi Binladen Group at a cost of around $2 billion.
The overall development involves a convention centre which can cater for 1,500 and will also include two heliports.
