Tennis legend Boris Becker is the latest big celebrity to attach his name to a UAE property investment development after the German helped to launch a new resort.
The Boris Becker Beach Resort and Tennis Academy is to be built at Ras al Khaimah’s lush Al Marjan Island.
Costing 3 billion Dhs, the scheme will include holiday homes, a five star hotel and serviced apartments.
ACI Real Estate is marketing the project and said units would have a “buy-to-use and lease” option.
ACI said:
“A project of this scale and nature has never before been attempted and is attracting significant interest from global investors.”
Becker said:
“With end-to-end luxury facilities, from residences to a spa and a five star hotel - there is simply no integrated resort of this calibre anywhere else.”
He joins the likes of Michael Schumacher and Tiger Woods in backing a UAE project which bears their name.
The former world number one tennis star will even be offering coaching sessions to a “select few”.
Ras al Khaimah, also known as RAK, is one of the fastest growing emirates in the United Arab Emirates with the population expected to grow from 150,000 to 750,000 by 2020.
The number of visitors to the small state is also expected to move from 500,000 to 2.5 million by 2012.
