An exclusive piece of US island home real estate is to go under the auctioneer’s hammer later this month.

The four-bedroomed home on the Haig Point island estate, South Carolina, will go to the highest bidder on Friday October 24.

Haig Point is on Daufuskie Island and is one of America’s most unique and desirable off-shore locations.

Accessible only by private ferry, the area features a golf course, club house, equestrian centre and beach club.

Auctioneers JP King said:

“In addition to the 29 spectacular holes of golf, Haig Point members have access to a top calibre clubhouse, Har-Tru tennis, croquet, two swimming pools, fitness trail, cycling and horseback riding.”

A member-owned site, Haig Point was built by developers International Paper, who then transferred ownership.

The site has around 100 full-time residents and another 50 are part-time, with the area also home to the equally prestigious Daufuskie Island Resort. Homes are normally priced from $400,000 up to around $7 million or more.
