Property investors are getting a first glimpse of new homes for sale at a vast United Arab Emirates property project.

Developers are inviting buyers to take a close look at the Al Furjan scheme, Dubai, which will feature 4,000 homes when complete.

Properties include villas, apartments, hotels and commercial plots which will house a daytime population of about 90,000 people.

On Wednesday night master builder Nakheel opened the first on-site sales centre at Al Furjan, along with a series of show villas.

Al Furjan Director Mohammed Rashed said he expected the villas to be “incredibly popular” with existing buyers and those looking for potential investment opportunities.

Nakheel said the project is to be founded on the principles of community living and will feature vast open spaces.

Four separate sections will combine to make up the development, each with its own central ‘village’ section.

The company added 2,000 villas and townhouses have already been sold “in record time”.

Dubai-based Nakheel is behind some of the Emirate’s world-famous projects such as Palm Jumeirah and the World.

Covering 560 hectares, the Al Furjan scheme is set to also include supermarkets, restaurants, mosques and gyms for its residents to enjoy.
