A double high rise development in the emirate of Abu Dhabi, UAE, is reporting good progress ahead of a planned 2010 handover date.
Sorouh Real Estate said Sun Tower, a 64 storey residential development and investment property project on Al Reem Island, was progressing well.
Part of the Shams Abu Dhabi development, the tower is complemented by a sister scheme, Sky Tower.
Sun Tower has now reached the 58th floor on the lift core while its sibling has reached level 52, meaning another floor is added to the towers every six to 10 days.
Sorouh chief operations officer, Samer Abu-Hijleh, said:
“Looking out from Abu Dhabi across to Reem Island, you can already see these iconic structures taking shape.
“Construction on Shams Abu Dhabi is on track and the speed with which it is making progress underlines Sorouh’s commitment to looking ahead and completing its developments on deadline.”
News of the scheme’s progress will come as a boost to the UAE real estate market, which some analysts fear is experiencing a construction and demand slowdown.
Sorouh also said progress is being made on the Gate Towers scheme, a six-structure development also on Al Reem Island.
