One of New York’s most exclusive homes for sale has gone for a price of around $850,000, with units in the same building still up for grabs.
The Kamali Organisation said the two-storey penthouse at ‘The Classic’, an upmarket apartment block, had gone to Manhattan residents who had moved from a Park Avenue South apartment.
The Classic is at Kew Gardens in Queens, and features a total of 52 condo homes starting in “the mid-$300,000s”.
A distinctive six-storey scheme, the building has attracted interest thanks to its design, which includes two small roof towers and terraces.
The Kamali Organisation said:
“The Classic is located in the heart of a neighbourhood that offers the allure and privacy of a genteel, suburban environment, yet is within easy reach of the modern conveniences and amenities of a cosmopolitan city.”
Highlights of the scheme include a fitness centre, childrens’ play room and doorman service.
Last month another New York condo development, ’303e33′ in Murray Hill, announced it had launched off-plan sales in what was described as the neighbourhood’s first “environmentally-responsible building”.
