A real estate exhibition is being organised in India so property companies can discuss ways of “forging a brighter future” for the sector.
There New Delhi event is to be held on January 23, and is being organised by homes magazine Realty Plus. Business leaders, policy makers, property professionals, environmentalists, and other key experts will be invited.
A new real estate awards ceremony, known as the Realty Plus Excellence Awards 2009, will also feature. Anurag Batra, editor-in-chief of Realty Plus, said the growing importance of the homes industry to the Indian economy was the motivator for founding the event.
He said:
“The conclave will engage dialogues with sector leaders who will jointly work on the steps to perk up the real estate sector.”
Categories in the awards will include architect of the year, regional developer, and other accolades for homes developers. Organisers hope the titles will become some of the most sought-after in the property sector, thanks to a tough selection process.
Last week the Indian government said the real estate sector can expect further direct aid, with many predicting officials will provide financial incentives for developers who build affordable homes.
Planning officers are also organising a meeting with regional politicians to draw up an overall recovery strategy for real estate.
