A leading UK homes builder is taking a unique approach to a hot-spot town by building new homes at five separate locations.
Persimmon said the Gloucester developments were being built in response to rising demand for quality property in the area. The homes are springing up in sites in Quedgley, Brockworth, plus two in central Gloucester, and one at Barnwood.
Executives said the city looks certain to continue as a bright spark amid an overall downturn in UK property sales.
Alison Reading, regional sales director for Persimmon, said:
“Gloucester is continuing to be a property hotspot, and it’s for this reason that we’ve decided to build a range of properties at a number of sought-after locations.
“We are confident in the knowledge that we are able to satisfy demand with our range of homes across our developments in the region.”
New houses in the developments start at £112,500 and stretch to around £310,000 in the Brockworth scheme.
A total of 450 homes are being built in the ‘Marketplace’ scheme alone, including apartments, and two, three, and four bed houses.
Gloucester’s property boom is thought to be down to a surge in the local business and financial services community.
