A Dubai property developer has revealed more than 1,000 homes in a prestigious waterfront scheme will be handed over by the end of 2009.
Nakheel said work on 1,040 new homes in the Manarah District in Badrah, part of its vast Waterfront scheme, was 40 per cent finished.
The properties make up around a third of the Badrah region of the scheme, which when complete will cover an overall area twice the size of Hong Kong and be home to 1.5 million people.
Besides luxury new homes, the developer is also completing work on infrastructure including water sewage and telecoms projects.
Marwan Al Qamzi, Waterfront managing director, said: “More than 1,000 new homes in Manarah are now taking shape, with residents set to take ownership by year end.”
Nakeel is behind Dubai ‘s most ambitious property projects including the man-made Palm Jumeirah and The World island developments. Waterfront involves turning 1.4 billion sq ft of empty desert and sea into what the company calls an ‘international community’.
Besides new homes for sale off plan, the project also includes business property and tourist attractions.
Property available in the Badrah region includes studio, one, two and three bedroom apartments, and town house-style homes.
