Moroccan valley branded next big thing in investment property

An idyllic part of Morocco south of Marrakech could become “the next big place” in new homes and holiday investment property, experts have said.
The North African country is already popular with a number of expatriates, including British nationals snapping up their own holiday homes and investment property pads.
The area of Palmeraie, close to the city, already features villa homes selling for £3 million but the luxury development trend could soon spread to the Ourika Valley, a region featuring picturesque villages and rocky landscapes.
It recently appeared on British television show A Million Pound Place in the Sun, Channel Four, where host Amanda Lamb branded it “guaranteed to have the millionaires queuing up with chequebook in hand”.
Emaar, a big player in the Middle East investment property market, is already working on a tourism and residential scheme at Oukaimeden in the region, featuring updated golf and ski facilities plus new homes.
The company is also working on homes and commercial property at Saphira, Rabat City, and more than 670 properties at Tinja, close to Tangiers. Potential investment property in Tinja includes villas and townhouses with landscaped gardens and either sea or forest views.
A sales centre for Tinja was opened last year, with many homes in the development still for sale off plan, with the whole resort community covering 300 hectares when finally complete.
