Luxury homes under construction at Costa Rican project

Costa Rica beachConstruction has started on the first phase of luxury homes in a beachfront community in Costa Rica.

Punta Bocana announced the scheme was now launching a new website and selling via a ‘Residents Club’ page.

Owners of a house in the master planned scheme will also get access to a state of the art marina which can accommodate yachts up to 125 ft in length.

Homes will also be close to the popular resort town of Jaco beach and around two hours from San Jose.

Developers of the new homes are able to self-finance the project, the owners said, meaning the credit crunch had not impeded progress.

Developer and owner Roberto Acosta said: “Our company’s solvency offers a tremendous boost to our clients’ peace of mind.”

Initial master drawings show around 20 house plans with scope for the development of homes on a number of other plots surrounding the marina site.

The phase one section of the units is scheduled for completion in July 2010 and the scheme also includes a boutique hotel, fine dining and shopping, and a deluxe hotel on the marina.

Buying a house in Costa Rica is relatively straightforward as any firm or individual can own land, commercial property or a house.
One of the few restrictions on ownership of property involves a 50-metre limit from a beach on an ocean front house.
