Cheap home Las Vegas featuring energy efficiency

American West Homes Las Vegas David HouseA Las Vegas real estate developer has unveiled new homes featuring energy efficiency technology packages and extensive house design options.

American West Homes has launched Lexington at Highlands Ranch, Las Vegas, Nevada, adding it is currently the only builder in the city still opening brand-new communities. It is also selling some house designs as low as $188,500 at a time when many US developers have slowed or postponed new projects.

Homes in the project feature two and three-storeys from 1,216 to 2,189 sq ft with starting prices ranging from $188,500 to $238,500. Environment-friendly features for each house include vinyl-framed, dual-pane ‘low-e’ windows and Super-Flow water management systems.

Larry Canarelli, president of American West Homes, said the firm was “excited” to be opening the scheme, adding: “We are the only builder in Las Vegas that continues to open brand-new communities and the fact that we are doing it starting at $188,500 is unheard of these days.”

Highlights include the ‘David’ house design, with three storeys, three bedrooms and a ‘huge’ family room and a ‘great room’ for entertaining.

Options with the house design include a possible fourth bedroom and balcony off one room, with American West adding the homes are each at least 30 per cent more energy efficient than national home building standards.

Las Vegas has previously seen an over-supply of homes for sale after the area was hit hard by the national foreclosure crisis.
