Brazilian housing market shows promise thanks to booming Natal area

Coral Beach, Maracajaú, Brazil,

New apartment housing is on sale in a beach front Brazilian development from just £49,796 ($70,865) in the booming region surrounding the city of Natal.

Apartments in the Coral Beach scheme are now available through GEM Estates and come with uninterrupted views of the Atlantic, swimming pool, bar, restaurant and 24 hour security.

The property development is being built at Maracajau, less than 50 km north of Natal, and home to a growing housing market and sport-related property surge.

Over 10 golf courses are springing up within a 25 minute travel radius of Maracajau and GEM says $1.8 billion is also being ploughed into new hotel and resort property in the region.

GEM Estates said Coral Beach, due for completion in January 2011, has “parking, beach-facing balconies and 14 penthouses with a spiral staircase leading to enormous roof terraces ideal for private jacuzzi, shower facility and convivial BBQ area”.

Elsewhere, Natal is also set to become home to the new ‘David Beckham World of Sport’ complex to coincide with the nation’s hosting of the 2014 World Cup.

The Coral Beach property scheme will involve 56 two-bedroomed apartments including the 14 penthouses and can be reserved for a £500 ($711) fee, followed by a staged payment plan.

Brazil remains one of the world’s cheapest spots for beachfront housing and other luxury holiday property. The new São Gonçalo del Amarante Airport close to Maracajau is also expected to drive up visitor numbers when complete.
