New homes for sale at former code breaking site!

george wimpey london UKAn eagerly-awaited development of new homes in the UK has been launched featuring more than 100 properties from apartments to family homes.

Developer George Wimpey unveiled the Sandringham development in Eastcote, Greater London, over the weekend and detailed some of the unique features in the scheme.

Some homes include the company’s exclusive ‘Live/Work’ units for residents who work from home, and the scheme’s design also includes a community hall and park.

Property released at a new sales centre is just a first phase of the ambitious development, which is being built on a site which was once a base for wartime code breakers.

George Wimpey said the site of Sandringham was home to code experts between 1943 and 1945, and was an outstation of Bletchley Park, the famous decoding centre of the UK government’s code and cypher school.

Now it is being turned into a “vibrant new community” with first homes available to reserve off-plan .

Tim Betts, George Wimpey regional sales and marketing director, said until the weekend many details of the property scheme had been kept “under wraps”, but the opening of the sales centre was designed to provide more info.

The scheme off Lime Grove in Ruislip involves one, two, three and four bedroom homes and is one of the biggest new property developments being built in the UK.
