Developer denies postponement of Jordan real estate scheme

Jordan Middle East sxcA huge real estate project in Jordan is still going ahead as planned after a change of contractors, officials have said. Abu Dhabi-based Manazel Real Estate said it was pushing on with the Amman Gardens homes scheme and denied it was considering a postponement.

Petra, Jordan’s news agency, said bosses maintained Manazel’s projects would not be hit by ongoing world financial upheaval.

Quoted by Petra, Manazel chairman Mohammed Al Qubaisi said research had led to the change of contractor.

He said: “Services of the former foreign contractor were terminated and the company had entrusted a Jordanian firm to implement the project’s infrastructure at a total cost of JD 15.5 million ($21.9 million).

“Choosing a Jordanian company to implement the first phase of Amman Gardens came after a thorough study of Jordan’s real estate sector.”

Amman Gardens is a 500,00 sq m project close to Amman and featuring more than 1,800 villa homes in a range of styles.

It is designed to serve commuters and families, with some homes featuring more than 250 sq m of floor space.

Homes are also being marketed with investors in mind, as Jordan sees a host of new real estate schemes which also includes Sanaya Amman, by Dubai-based Limitless.
