eclipse laing UK p4mLuxury apartment and townhouse homes have gone on sale at a UK development offering a range of property designs close to commuter routes. Laing Homes is building Eclipse, Cambridge, and is keen to show off nine three-storey ‘Wentworth’ townhouses and ‘Heydon’ apartment homes ahead of a 2010 completion.

The upmarket Wentworth townhouses feature four bedrooms each, some with en suite bathrooms, arranged in a crescent shape overlooking a landscaped green. The firm said sales were already going well at the development and said it was designed to attract families and first-time buyers.

Laing Homes said: “A range of everyday amenities are being built alongside the homes including a local shopping area, community centre, primary school, hotel, community sports pitches and tennis courts. Local transport links, including a regular bus service to Cambridge, have also been established.”

Cambridge has traditionally been a target for UK property investment buyers thanks to its good transport links to London, which has fuelled a commuter community.

Property at Eclipse is available from £162,995 ($231,188) for the ‘Heydon’ apartments, while the ‘Wentworth’ designs are going for £246,995 ($350,331) and up.

Laing Homes is a George Wimpey brand and buyers can so get access to a property investment club which is run by George Wimpey.

The group’s membership is free, subject to conditions, and gives access to property seminars, mortgage deals and pre-release offers.
