A UAE property developer has officially opened new sales in one of its most ambitious international property projects to date.
Emaar released more property in the mixed-use Mivida scheme in New Cairo City, Egypt, featuring off plan townhouse homes and prices starting from EGP 1.2 million ($213,226), with a five per cent down payment.
The development is seen as a key venture for Emaar, already a massive player in the UAE, but looking to sell homes in new international markets. The homes have elegant interiors designed by international designers Saddleback and PDI and delivery for the overall real estate scheme has been scheduled for 2012.
Sameh Muhtadi, chief executive officer of Emaar Misr, the firm’s Egyptian division, said: “The launch of Mivida townhomes follows the strong customer response to the Mivida villas [already released in the scheme].
“Mivida offers the distinctive advantage of easy accessibility from the city centre and the American University in Cairo, as well as the option of owning ready-to-live-in homes.”
The wider project also features retail real estate, educational facilities and business parks, plus a community centre and leisure options.
The EGP 5.75 billion ($1 billion) real estate scheme is set in 3.8 million sq m and features 5,000 properties including three to five-bedroom villas, two- to three-bedroom townhomes and a range of apartments.
Emaar has already seen significant initial interest in two other Egyptian schemes, Uptown Cairo and Marassi, both of which it says are being built to schedule.
The company’s involvement in the UAE homes market includes the likes of the Dubai Marina and Downtown Burj Dubai.
