Social marketing phenomenon sees new homes on Facebook

Park Central UK prA UK Property developer has turned to social networking phenomenon Facebook to build a sense of community and attract new buyers at a new apartment scheme.

Crest Nicholson said it was looking to “transform the way new city centre communities are formed” at its Park Central development in Birmingham.

The Facebook group includes a library of photography on the property and a surrounding eight acres of public parkland.

Group members will also get details and updates on offers and incentives on homes in the scheme. Executives also said they hoped the group will become an interactive online forum for the residents themselves.

Park Central’s sales manager, Jo Parker, said: “The Facebook page is not only a way for us to communicate with our buyers but will also provide them with a chance to correspond with others that live at the development, encouraging them to make friends and get to know their neighbours.”

News on the Facebook group’s home page includes details of a ‘city living starter pack’ including champagne and a meal out for anyone buying one of the penthouse homes.

Homes on sale in the scheme also include two bedroom apartments available from £124,950 ($184,738). The range of luxury two bedroom split level penthouse property is available from £169,950 ($251,175).
