First homes handed over at pioneering ‘mega project’ in Jordan

MadinatAlMajd Phase 1 JordanThe first residents have been welcomed to phase one of a mega project in Jordan designed to provide homes for more than 50,000 people.

Tameer recently completed the initial stages of Madinat Al Majd, in the Al Zarqa governorate, costing a total of $500 million and the first real estate scheme of its kind in the country.

When complete the scheme will be capable of providing homes for over 50,000 people in 18,500 units covering two million square metres.

Based on the main highway leading to Zarqa, it also includes commercial real estate, shopping centres, medical and community centres and schools.

Mohammed Hato, managing director of Tameer International in Jordan, said at a handover ceremony: “We are pleased and proud to officially welcome the first residents to our Madinat Al Majd project.

“This reflects our commitment to our promises and represents another milestone for Tameer, and we are sure that you will all enjoy the community that we are building here.”

Tameer also revealed it will be showcasing Madinat Al Majd at Cityscape Abu Dhabi, running from Sunday to Wednesday, 19 to 22 April, where homes and lots of commercial real estate will be on offer at special rates from AED 100,000 ($27,224).

The company is also expected to exhibit a number of other new real estate schemes at the event, held at Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre.
