An executive for Freddie Mac the troubled mortgage giant has been found dead at his home in Northern Virginia.
It is believed that he committed suicide by hanging himself according to initial investigations, as there were no signs of foul play.
Police were called to the home at 4:48 am by Mr Kellerman’s family and his body was taken away by before 9 am by the Fairfax Coroners Office. By then the home was surrounded by television trucks and reporters.
Mr Kellerman took the position of Chief Financial Officer at the company after the federal government seized the company and removed top executives last September.
According to neighbors, Mr Kellerman hired a private security firm after reporters came to his house to ask about bonuses totaling $210 million paid to executives of which he received $800,000.
