Vinnie Morris and Garry Bowler have both won Seals of Excellence awards in the East regional finals of the Pride in the Job scheme run by the National House Building Council (NHBC) to recognise best practice in the industry.

This is his first Seal of Excellence award for Garry, site manager at the Laurel Wolds development at Cotgrave, Nottinghamshire, whilst Vinnie, site manager at the Falcon Heath site near Lincoln, is celebrating winning an incredible third Seal of Excellence, all achieved in consecutive years.

Malcolm Ceney, production director at Miller Homes East Midlands, said: “This is great news for both Vinnie and Garry, whose dedication to maintaining high standards at their sites has been recognised.

“As confidence in the housing market increases, it’s up to people like Garry and Vinnie to ensure that not only are sites safe for workers, but also that they present the right impression to buyers who can be confident that they are buying quality homes.”

Vinnie and Garry are two of the 22 house building site managers from across the region who have won Seal of Excellence awards for building the best quality new homes and managing their sites to an exceptional standard, placing them amongst the top 100 site managers in the UK.

Now in its 28th year, NHBC’s Pride in the Job Awards are only presented to site managers who have demonstrated outstanding levels of skill across 38 areas of site management, including technical expertise, quality control and health and safety.

The competition is rigorous with around 13,000 site managers across the UK entered into the awards. In addition, each site manger is assessed over 12 months to gauge an accurate view of how they manage their site and the overall quality and finish of the new homes.

Richard Hartshorn, NHBC’s director for the East region, said: “To win a Pride in the Job Award at this stage of the competition takes an exceptional level of commitment and hard work. Each of the winners is a tribute to the new homes industry and testament to the high standards that can be achieved.”
