Work continues apace at Bramshott Place Village in Liphook, the development of luxury apartments and cottages for the over 55s, and the latest addition is the construction of a dedicated cycle way from the development into the centre of Liphook. The Council has just granted planning permission, and work will commence at the beginning of February.
The cycleway is a key part of the Green Travel Plan for Bramshott Place Village, which co- ordinates sustainable options for travel on public and private transport, bringing with it many benefits for residents of the development, Liphook itself, and the environment in general. It forms part of the whole environmental objective for the village scheme, which includes the promotion of a healthy sustainable lifestyle for all who live there and in the vicinity.
According to Cliff Meyler, Operations Director at Urban Renaissance Villages, the joint developer of Bramshott Place Village with Helical Bar, the cycleway will run from the junction with Hewshott Lane and London Road, and follow London Road into Liphook. “It is a fairly major project and will take around 10 weeks to complete,” he comments. “The work involves traffic calming measures on the busy London Road, new crossing points for pedestrians, new and extended footpaths. There will be resurfacing, new paving, refurbishments to signage, lighting and drainage and an extension to the parapet over the bridge. The end result will be a safer journey for all cyclists, and further encouragement to use this greener mode of travel. Hopefully it will lead to fewer cars, cleaner air and fitter people!”
A limited number of properties are still available for occupation in Spring with prices ranging from £290,000 to £325,000 for apartments and from £440,000 to £525,000 for cottages. Phase 2 cottages are now released for sale. Further information is available from the marketing suite on 01428 722800 or by visiting www.bramshottplace.co.uk.
