Nottingham to be a presence at the MIPIM in Cannes

Team Nottingham’ will be out to show the world that the City’s institutions bring a proactive, ‘can do’ attitude to potential investment talks at the world’s biggest property development show – le marche international des professionnels de l’immobilier (MIPIM) – in Cannes next month.

The team assembled to represent Nottingham at the property sector’s pivotal international investors faire is made up of professionals from every part of the property development supply-chain. Leading solicitors, architects, surveyors, builders, engineers, and marketers from the province will join forces with delegations from the Nottingham City Council, Invest in Nottingham and Nottingham Regeneration Ltd to demonstrate that all the experience, skills and infrastructure to make commercially attractive deals happen quickly and smoothly is present in abundance in the home of Robin Hood.

Global icons like the legendary archer, sporting heroes such as Brian Clough, and high profile sporting venues including Trent Bridge will all be leveraged by the Team to make Nottingham stand out from the crowd as the nation’s cities go head-to-head for inward investment. There will also be an emphasis on showing how the City will realise its aspirations for a very bright future by building on the bedrock of a solid business community.

Alan Boyden, group managing director at BCS Public Relations, and member of Team Nottingham, commented: “As a life-long resident of Nottingham I’m a huge advocate of the city’s many and varied educational, social and business opportunities.

“As a businessperson the city has always provided me with all the resources necessary to succeed, from a plentiful supply of well qualified staff to cost-effective business premises. The City is ideally located in the middle of the country and has a good transport infrastructure, which enables businesses to service clients both nationally and internationally with ease. It’s also a great place to bring up a family, with a superb range of schools and a plentiful range of leisure facilities from shops and award winning restaurants to excellent sporting and recreational facilities.”

Although their mission to Cannes will primarily be funded by private sector players like Gleeds; Innes England; Maber; Miller Birch and Morgan Tucker, the public sector contingent will play a central role for Team Nottingham at this year’s show. Team Nottingham will be showcasing six new prestigious city centre development sites and Southside – Nottingham’s new business district.
