Property exhibitors up, but will visitors be down at Cityscape Abu Dhabi?

cityscape abu dhabi PRExhibitor numbers are set to be higher than last year at a leading UAE real estate show being held next month. Cityscape Abu Dhabi is registering a 31 per cent increase in exhibitor space compared to last year despite ongoing global downturn.

However, organisers also admitted they are expecting a far smaller number of visitors at around 30,000 compared to an attendance of almost 50,000 last time around.

Property highlights already confirmed for the show include three huge master plan real estate schemes – the Capital District Concept Plan, Khalifa B Master Plan and the Shahama and Bahia Revitalisation Plan.

Ahead of the April 19 to 22 property show, event director Mark Goodchild told Arabian Business: “We don’t think there will be as much foot fall, but we are certainly hoping that the quality of visitor will be on a par with last year; we just had a massive increase of foot fall simply because of the climate and real estate excitement that was around last May.”

He also said institutional investors were still looking to the middle east and added the show will be important as it represents “the first stop of the real estate exhibition calendar”.

Held at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre, the event will also feature an exhibition on Yas Island, a mixed-use property scheme by Benoy Abu Dhabi with hundreds of planned homes.
