Energy Savings to be made at Avante

AvanteThis week (19th – 25th October) sees the start of Energy Saving Week, now in its thirteenth year, the week is run by The Energy Savings Trust and aims to help households learn how they can reduce their carbon footprint. Crest Nicholson’s Avante development in Coxheath incorporates a number of innovative eco-features designed to help homeowners save energy as well as money.

Currently, every household in the UK creates around six tonnes of carbon dioxide every year, twice as much CO2 as the average car and enough to fill one hot air balloon. Concerningly over £8million pounds of energy is wasted every year from homes that are poorly insulated, so it is reassuring to know that Crest Nicholson homes at Avante are more than twice as energy efficient as an average second hand UK home, incorporating better insulation and exceeding energy efficient building regulations.

Avante is an innovative collection of 150 highly contemporary one and two bedroom apartments and two, three and four bedroom houses that are pushing the boundaries of sustainable living. At Avante each home has been rated ‘Very Good’ or ‘Excellent’ by the EcoHomes independent system of rating for domestic properties.

Annette Cole, Sales & Marketing Director for Crest Nicholson (Eastern) Ltd, comments: “Energy Savings Week is a great initiative designed to raise awareness of just how much energy is used, and lost, by poor quality housing. The homes at Avante have been specifically designed to help reduce the use of energy and this gives purchasers not only the peace of mind that they are helping reduce their CO2 emissions and save the environment, but also helps them save money on their energy bills which is important in these financially difficult times.”

Properties at Avante have a number of innovative eco-features, including low energy lighting throughout, that helps reduce electricity consumption. The glazing within all of the homes has been minimised in the bedrooms and maximised in the living areas to let light flood in and reduce the loss of heat. Other eco features include a central lantern roof light which allows a generous amount of daylight into all properties. This unique feature also provides natural ventilation and improves solar gain.

Located in Coxheath in Kent, Avante is just four miles south of Maidstone. Well positioned, the development is situated a few miles from the M20.
