Mortgage foreclosures is making the US a Mecca for property investment. There are huge discounts to be had with foreclosed homes changing hands at silly prices, as banks and lenders attempt to dig themselves out of a hole.

Whatever your views on capitalizing on someone else’s misfortune, this is a massive investment opportunity that has presented itself. Many shrewd property investors have more than a weather eye on foreclosed homes for sale due to mortgage foreclosure.

If you want to get in on the act, here are a couple of resources that will get you started:

Remember - Dick Turpin wore a mask

Exercise some restraint before diving in. The world and its dog is on to this, which means that there will be unscrupulous companies who will take advantage of your lack of knowledge if you haven’t done your research.

I read this article about a property investor in the US who bought a beautiful home in a wonderful location with a great discount. There was nothing wrong with the house he purchased, accept it was quirky. He bought the house as a property investment and tried to sell it on quickly. Although he did manage to sell it eventually, he had to do some re-modeling first which took a few quid of his bottom line.

So always, always do your research.
